Politically incorrect, or even rude, does not equate to Racist. It’s still legal to be a jerk in this country, for now at least! #fb

Cameron Bailey - owner of the Hillbilly HavenThis past week the owner of a hillbilly-themed restaurant in Hamilton, ON has taken some heat for posting signs saying he doesn’t sell Middle Eastern and Asian foods and serves customers in English.

Let me set the tony by saying that Evelyn Myrie, Executive Director of Hamilton’s Centre for Civic Inclusion, who has stated that the signs are “very offensive and against the principles of diversity and inclusion.”, you can kiss my ass!

What the hell is the Centre for Civic Inclusion anyway?!?!?! What a waste of money (likely ours).

Anyway Mr. Cameron Bailey, says he means no offence. Even if he does mean to offend, I don’t care. That’s his right. I’m so tired of people like Ms. Myrie who seem to think they can and should tell us what to think, say, feel and do. If Mr. Bailey wants to drive himself out of business by insulting various customs (cuisine is not protected under the charter!), let him.

Signs in window of Hillbilly HavenIf YOU choose to be insulted because of a sign that says, “to better serve you, our staff speaks ENGLISH” and “What would make you think this was a Korean BBQ? Do you see any f’n ducks in the window?”, then you really don’t understand why my grandfather and uncle died fighting the tyranny of Hitler et al. I will defend to the death Mr. Bailey’s right to be a jerk.

If you don’t like it, stay away from his place of business, and don’t eat his BBQ food. Or even blog about it! Since he has broken no laws, leave him be.

Here is a link to the Hamilton Spectator’s article on the subject.  You can vote on whether or  not you find this offensive there.
